You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the NAVAL NUCLEAR PROPULSION PROGRAM (NNPP) of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.

Duties
You will monitor the effectiveness of existing security practices, and recommend the types of control requirements, procedures, facilities, and safeguards needed.
You will participate in inspections, surveillances, surveys, vulnerability assessments, and development of site-specific safeguards and security plans.
You will recommend adjustments in short range strategies for protection of (Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program) NNPP sites, programs, and activities to assure compliance with brad general security administration regulations.
You will provide advisory assistance and technical guidance to site office staff, and Contractors on the interpretation and application of security, policies, guidelines, standards and procedures,
You will evaluate the adequacy of complex security systems and equipment proposed for potential utilization.
You will make sound recommendations concerning areas of responsibility consistent with technical requirements, governing regulations, needs of the program and good business practices.
You will control and protect sensitive Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) information and equipment.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, BR-01 (or GS-07 equivalent), in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing security program assessment, evaluation, planning, or administration for the physical security of a nuclear facility.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
