This position is announced by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Secretary, Under Secretary for Management, Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer (CRSO). CRSO is responsible for unified headquarters consolidation strategy and policy for DHS and conducts strategic planning analysis, and development in support of the DHS strategic consolidation plan.
Duties
This position is located within the Systems and Information Integration Office (SI2O) within the Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer (OCRSO). OCRSO is a core line of business within the Office of Under Secretary for Management (MGMT), under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) temporarily located in Springfield, VA. The primary responsibility of this position is to identify, collect, and analyze data, promoting data-driven decision making, and providing analysis for total asset visibility for the policy and program offices across OCRSO and MGMT. You must possess one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level performing: 1) Working with program and policy owners to translate business needs into systems and data requirements; 2) Utilizing Structured Query Language (SQL) to conduct back-end queries of a system to identify patterns, themes, and trends; 3) Navigating technology applications such as Oracle Database, Informatica Power Center, PowerBI, ArcGIS Online, Tableau, and ERSI Portal to produce analytical prototypes and products; 4) Preparing reports and visualizations analyzing business data to support stakeholders needs.
