To primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior information assurance specialist with responsibility for planning, developing, and coordinating the documentation, standards and procedures, testing, modification, upgrading, and troubleshooting of lT security programs.
Duties
Serves as a senior lnformation Assurance Administrator
Serves as a Network Security Program advisor.
Troubleshoots complex security problems and provides advice and support in a manner that minimizes interruptions in the customers' ability to carry out business activities.
Serves as a senior technical advisor to management.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPMOPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, OPM Qualification Standard for Group Coverage Qualifications Standards for Information Technology Management (Alt A) Positions; IT Management Series for GS-2210. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes planning, directing, formulating, integrating, and executing all aspects of information system security requirements within cost, schedule, performance and/or operational requirements. Also applying Information Technology (IT) security principles, methods and security products to protect and maintain the availability, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability of information systems resources and information processes throughout the system's life cycle.
AND
IT-related experience which demonstrates the (four) required competencies - Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a full range of IT principles, concepts, practices, products and services (including systems software, database software, immediate access storage technology), and methods to develop and coordinate security policies and standards.
2. Knowledge of IT security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and ensure standards are met for security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and advise on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews.
3. Knowledge of Local Area Network security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry.
4. Knowledge of a broad range of IT concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess and advise on risks and vulnerability from a variety of sources (e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to plan and develop training on IT security requirements, standards, procedures, tools and products.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
