Duties
The Safety & Environmental Operations Manager will report to the Safety and Environmental Officer. May receive general direction from the MCCS Director, Management Analysis and Control. The Safety & Environmental Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the MCCS Environmental, Safety and Fire Prevention Programs. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Primary responsibilities:

Qualifications
• Two to three years’ experience in safety administration, technical or other responsible work with a good general understanding of safety methods and processes. One to two years’ progressively responsible experience providing knowledge of safety principles, codes and standards involved in preventing accidents and controlling hazards; and skill in the use of techniques and methods for the identification and analysis of hazards; or similar work within an occupational specialty demonstrating required knowledge and abilities.• Ability to perform the following functions Develop programs to eliminate causes and reduce the severity of accidents. Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of MCCS safety programs. Provide solutions and initiate corrective action when issues or problems arise. Gather and analyze data. Interpret, apply and ensure compliance with existing laws, statutes and established rules and regulations. Communicate effectively and to make clear and concise presentations and reports, both oral and written. Provide technical support, advice, and assistance to MCCS stakeholders and Command. Ensure compliance with occupational, health, fire and safety laws and regulations. Train personnel in the areas of safety and accident prevention. Skilled in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships.
