About the Position: This position is with the 9th Mission Support Command, Theater Support Group, Directorate of Logistics located at Fort Shafter Flats, Hawaii.
Duties
Advise command staff and senior leaders on logistical matters.
Provide program direction for activities concerned with the distribution, maintenance and utilization of unit equipment.
Attend logistics conferences and meetings as an advisor, briefer, or functional participant.
Conduct periodic staff visits throughout the command to assess logistical readiness posture of subordinate units.
Develop detailed budget projections for future years budget.
Provide guidance to subordinate elements in formulating budget estimates for logistical requirements.
Establish and recommend priority and commitment of resources for personnel, equipment and supplies to support logistical operations.
Manage the execution of the logistics management program for the command.
Supervise civilian and military employees in logistics management operations.
Evaluate employee work performance and provide guidance and recommendations.
Assign work to subordinates based on the capabilities of employees.
Develop and implement policies, programs, and systems to increase efficiency and economy of command logistics support functions and operations.
Ensure policies concerning property accountability, facilities, food service, transportation and movement of equipment/material are followed in order to meet established requirements.
Establish logistics readiness priorities for support of mobilization and exercise missions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical guidance on logistics programs to senior leadership and staff; developing policies to increase the efficiency of logistics support functions; recommending action required to maintain operational readiness level of subordinate elements; developing budget projections; and establishing work priorities to be completed by subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
