About the Position: This is a PERMANENT Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Military) position with the 193rd Infantry Brigade, 120th AG Battalion (Reception) Personnel Affairs Branch located at Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Exercises position management responsibilities, assuring job descriptions are current and accurate and that position structure of the organization is designed and structured to ensure optimum efficiency.
Plans, supervises, and coordinates the operation and resources of the Personal Affairs Brand and the Identification Card Section.
Performs and coordinates military personnel services and support.
Ensures that procedures are properly followed and provides assistance or guidance.
Prepares reports and/or briefings to inform management of the analysis results for use in the decision-making process.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to pass a full background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
- Position may require an alternate work schedule and weekends to meet mission needs.
- Position may require mandatory overtime or compensatory time to complete the mission.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing military personnel human resource management programs to improve operations and ensure regulatory compliance; overseeing military personnel actions processing to ensure proper coordination, utilizing automated systems to support various military personnel programs; preparing and providing reports to higher echelons of command; managing leave and schedules in a time keeping system such as Automated Time and Attendance Production System (ATAAPS) and evaluating employee development and performance ratings in a performance evaluation system such as DOD Performance Management and Appraisal Program (DPMAP). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
