You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC in the PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will perform predominantly new work as well as maintenance and repair work on buildings, exterior and interior structures and related utilities, facilities and components. You will use building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering, drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals. You will install, align, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and maintain various types of nonproduction industrial plant machinery, equipment, and systems. You will plan, lay out, and constructs manufactured items and systems with dovetailed, set-in bottom, burred-bottom, wired, or lock seams.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Troubleshooting, repairing and installing a variety of systems for air cylinders, hydraulic, pneumatic, piping and cooling systems; 2) Troubleshooting, repairing and installing electrical circuits, systems, fixtures and controls; and 3) Ensuring work is in compliance with specifications and completed within required time frames. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
