You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC in the NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will conduct visual inspections and operational tests to determine the need for maintenance or repair work. You will perform maintenance on electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, or mechanical systems to maintain buildings and equipment. You will have skill in interpreting building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering, drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the work and skill to use trade formulas to calculate common properties. You will operate tools and equipment following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

• May be required to work overtime and/or be "called back". Work other than normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• The work will require lifting and carrying tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, may be required to lift or move heavier equipment with assistance.
