The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.
Duties
Manage the security operations for an organization and ensure that personnel are aware of the proper protection of sensitive and classified information.
Responsible for planning and conducting reviews of surveys and inspections throughout the Armaments Center (AC) for the Center's Headquarters (HQ).
Participates in formal and informal meetings, conferences, committees, and seminars with representatives of other functional areas, managers and representatives of other/higher Commands, industry, and academia.
Brief and train personnel regarding handling and safeguarding classified material, situational awareness, to prevent unauthorized disclosure.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Three year probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the DE-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1.) Experience developing and implementing a sound and effective security program for, personnel, property, and facilities; 2) Experience in the review of policy directives from higher authority and developing implementing procedures and guidelines; AND 3.) Experience with complex physical security systems and other special security subjects (such as Arms, Ammunition and Explosives (AA&E) alarm, IDS, access and camera systems) and 4) Experience in implementing the requirements of regulations and policies.
