About the Position: Fort Liberty is known as the "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces." It is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations and is co-located at Fayetteville, NC. It is centrally located just hours away from the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. Fayetteville Regional Airport is located 12 miles outside of Fort Liberty's gates and Raleigh-Durham International Airport is 70 miles away.

Duties

Coordinate the acquisition of all information technology (IT) assets. Advise command on IT requirement determinations, associated documentation and justification processes. Develop short range and multi-year master plans to meet and forecast IT requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Drug testing requirement. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain Defense Acquisition University (DAU), Information Technology Level II certification.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain GPC Ordering Officer certification.
  • Temporary duty travel may be required approximately 10% of the time.
  • This position may require One-Year probationary period.

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
