Qualifications

To qualify for this position of Legal Administrative Specialist (Attorney Recruitment Advisor & Counselor), you must meet the qualification requirements listed below by the closing of this announcement:
For GS-13:
Specialized Experience: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as: Assisting with formulating programs specific to attorneys that provide legal professional resources for development and career enhancement; assisting with studies to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of activities and programs; and representing an organization at seminars, panels, symposiums, or similar gatherings providing information.Previous experience with career counseling, and providing resume writing and interviewing skills are a plus. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
For GS-14:
Specialized Experience: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as: Formulating programs specific to attorneys that provide legal professional resources for development and career enhancement; Conducting studies to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of activities and programs; and representing an organization at seminars, panels, symposiums, or similar gatherings providing information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Educational Requirement: This position requires knowledge of legal courses, principles, and regulations of the attorney career requirements sufficient to provide career guidance and advice. As such, the selectee must have completed the requirements and received a Juris Doctorate.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.
