The primary purpose of this position, ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER WL-2610-12, is to lead WG-8 through WG-12 journeyman electronic mechanics in performing depot level maintenance on assigned workload and to fault isolate and repair avionics components (LRU) and subcomponents (SRU) on a wide variety of airborne electronic systems.
Duties
Perform pretest, operational (functional), or final testing of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.
Perform overhaul, repair, fabrication, or modification of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.
Perform the final tuning, alignment, or calibration of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.
Troubleshoot electronic systems, components, or subassemblies to determine nature of malfunction and corrective action required.
Utilize safety practices and procedures.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WL-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently lifts and carries items weighing 25 lbs and over with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The work requires working in a sitting position for extended periods of time. and frequent standing, walking, be ding, crouching, reaching and stooping are required. Some work may requires the aid of magnifying lenses, eye loupes, and microscopes to accomplish repairs on miniature components. NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee typically works in well-lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. May be required to work at remote user locations under variable conditions or within clean room environments where special garments including head coverings, shoe coverings, and gloves are required. Exposed to the possibility of electric shock; burns from electrical or RF energy or hot solder; and cuts and bruises.
