The primary purpose of this position, Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-13 is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system complexes consisting of several complete integrated systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.
Duties
1. Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, align, and calibrate complete multi-systems such as the electronics package in a highly automated aircraft where target acquisition and tracking, weapons control, aircraft altitude control, navigation, and other complex functions are performed by numerous systems which are extensively interconnected with data feedback loops and accomplish a number of major functions.
2. Set up and operate software controlled automated test stations to run established and new diagnostic programs in various test modes to test and troubleshoot multi-system complexes on an aircraft.
3. Use and maintain hand and power tools, precision measurement tools, and test equipment.
4. Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
5. Maintain inspections and maintenance records.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Physical Demands:
Light to moderate physical exertion is required in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds, and occasional objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds with the help of weight handling equipment of with assistance from other workers. The work requires standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods of time on concrete or composite floors. Climbing and working high in high places (towers) may be required.
Work Environment:
Employee typically works in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. Work is sometimes performed at missile sites, or in aircraft, sometimes outside in inclement weather. Exposed to the possibility of electric shock; burns from electrical or RF energy or hot solder; and cuts and bruises.
