About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security Administration, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Clarksville, Tennessee about 45 miles northwest of Nashville.

Duties
Provide technical advice regarding safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Executes the Airfield Division Aviation Accident Prevention Program for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
Provide interpretation of technical and general/vague criteria to assist in the formulation of appropriate control measures.
Represent the Chief, Airfield Division at various meetings, seminars, and conferences to provide technical guidance and assistance for the integration of safety criteria into risk management plans and operation directive.
Assist supervisors in achieving the highest degree of compliance with accident prevention goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Physical examination required.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Requires re-employment and random drug screening.
- This position has been identified as being a KEY position.
- This is a CP-12 position. CP-12 ACTEDS training is mandatory for personnel filling these positions.

Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 1 year and 1 day by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition if the incumbent meets the eligibility criteria for specific appointment authorities in accordance with 9902(b)(2) of title 5, U.S.C.
Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 1 year and 1 day, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing safety or occupational health program elements; 2) Applying safety and occupational health laws, regulations, practices and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements; AND 3) Inspecting workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
