About the Position: Serves as on-site Budget Analyst for a complex, regional multi-million dollar program. Program consists of Civil Works, Continuing Authorities, Operations and Maintenance- Support for Others, Disaster Preparedness and Response for Task Force Virgin Islands Puerto Rico (TF VIPR). Area of responsibility includes the State of Florida and the Caribbean Basin Region. This position is located in Jacksonville, Florida or San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Duties

Serves as budget analyst in support of Project Managers. Provides oversight and guidance to lower graded analysts in the work assigned determining work schedules and priorities. Coordinates the budgeting of assigned programs. Formulates annual and multi-year budget estimates, requests supplemental appropriations, and reprograms allotments from higher headquarters needed to finance program changes. Exercises control and surveillance over funding matters to assure successful attainment of stated program objectives. Maintains records of funding, obligations and expenditures for assigned programs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Serves as on-site budget analyst in the support of the organization staff tasked with the management and oversight of complex projects in a regional multi-million-dollar program. 2) Coordinates the budgeting of assigned programs. 3) Exercises control and surveillance over funding matters to assure successful attainment of stated program objectives. 4) Maintains records of funding, obligations, and expenditures for assigned programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
