About the Position: The work is assigned based on administrative and policy direction regarding project priorities and objectives. The employee is responsible for planning, scheduling, and carrying out major SHARP projects related to program analysis and evaluation or organizational effectiveness.

Duties

Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Serve as the principal advisor as the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program Prevention Division Branch Chief for the HQDA-Deputy Chief of Staff G-9, Army SHARP Program. Develop the SHARP Prevention Strategy and SHARP Prevention Line of Effort (LOE) to enhance sexual harassment and sexual assault prevention programs Army-wide. Coordinate with the SHARP Academy for training programs. Research professional literature with evidence-based concepts to integrate new findings into current work and/or future development.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain secret clearance.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Background checks against all records prior to duty in the position, and, IAW governing regulations, on a recurring basis while employed in the position.
  • Minimum of a Tier 3 background investigation, or equivalent, and enrollment in Continuous Evaluation are required.
  • State Criminal History Repository check is required for all states of residence in the previous five and/or up to ten years.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
  • Within six months of employment must successfully complete required Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) training and obtain and maintain D-SAACP certification.
  • Must complete all required training, obtain D-SAACP certification, and be placed on appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
  • Required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors.
  • May be required to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with developing policies and/or processes for Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault; utilizing a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to evaluate the effectiveness of SHARP programs; and assisting with overseeing activities in the applied prevention science/interactive public health system's framework. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Human Capital ManagementTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
