You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER (CODE900Q), PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT ANALYSIS & BUSINESS MANAGER (CODE 900A), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT MANAGER (CODE 901), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (CODE 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will audit, investigate, and utilize analysis methods and techniques.
You will utilize quality assurance concepts, principles, and methodologies to conduct effective audits and investigations.
You will identify waste and damage of systems.
You will conduct studies of work process collecting, sorting, grouping, and analyzing process data for quality trends.
You will review training materials and assist in special quality assurance training classes for employees of the shops.
You will recommend quality improvements to shop management.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing quality assurance concepts, principles, and methodologies to conduct effective audits/investigations.
Experience auditing, investigating and utilizing analysis methods and techniques.
Experience working with basic ship types, configurations, and systems to facilitate shipboard onsite inspections of failed systems/components.
Experience reviewing training material and creating training plans regarding quality assurance programs.
Experience interpreting drawings, plans, specifications, and job orders.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
