About the Position: This position is assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (DASD (MC&FP), Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)).

Duties

Provide oversight of non-appropriated fund (NAF) Information technology (IT) and Cyber-related policies and procedures. Take part in the planning, direction, operation, control, and coordination of Department of Defense (DoD) resale, morale, welfare, recreation (MWR), lodging and NAF programs and policies. Monitor the implementation of NAF IT and Cyber policies, programs, and procedure ensuring a compliant security posture. Provide expert authority and advise concerning the development, implementation, modification, and management of long- and short-range NAF IT/Cyber goals, objectives, policies, and priorities. Assist in conducting management surveys and research projects to develop policy positions on a variety of high-level issues of vast scope and critical importance. Deal with significant and complex issues to respond to the needs of service members and their families by increasing connections with America?s communities, Military OneSource, and other programs. Conduct unprecedented special assignments on complex high-priority issues in which the scope frequently alters as the work progresses. Develop legislation program and coordinate legislation for commissary, exchange, MWR, NAF, or other related assigned programs. Deliver presentations and provide training to military and civilian audiences on programs and services available for service members and their families.

Requirements

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring the implementation of Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Information Technology (IT) and Cyber policies, programs and/or procedures, evaluating resale, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), lodging and/or NAF programs and services, recommending potential options and alternatives for continued NAF technological adoptions, designing, developing, and or maintaining IT infrastructure for NAF instrumentality business needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
