About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.
Duties
Administers, plans, and directs the agency property management program and provides administrative and operational support.
Conduct a 100% annual reconciliation of Government property with primary hand receipt holders.
Manage equipment surplus actions to include transferring equipment for reissue to Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTOE) and Table of Distribution and Allowance (TDA) units both within and outside the National Capital Region (NCR).
Assist with management of civilian personnel actions to include but not limited to position establishments, recruitment actions, efficiency reports, and awards.
Research current Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Army (DA), and local policies to determine applicable policy and procedures in relation to current projects, taskings, and issues.
Prepare inventory lists, assists Hand Receipt Holders as required in making their inventories, and adjusts property records as required to ensure accuracy.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A comprehensive background investigation is required.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes administer a property management program; maintain inventory control records utilizing an automated system such as GCSS-A; maintain a database for property or equipment; provide administrative support to leadership on a variety of supply and equipment requests. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
