You will serve as a Supervisory Staff Curator (Museum Management) in the the Navy Art Branch, Collection Management Division of NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND.
Duties
You will serve as the Branch Head of the Navy Art Branch of the Collection Management Division (CMD).
You will perform a variety of routine and special duties in connection with the administration and operation of the Navy Art Branch.
You will be responsible for the Navy Art Loan Program and traveling art shows.
You will be responsible for the management of the Navy Art Collection.
You will supervise employees and direct the daily operations of the Navy Art Branch.
Requirements

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing a knowledge of museum collections management practices, including acquisition, evaluation, registration, cataloging, preserving, packing, storage, and retrieval, and shipping of artifacts. Examples of specialzied experience include: 1) Identify and prioritize conservation requirement, prepare statements of work for conservation, and approve treatment proposals; 2) Develop and implement plans for the artists on staff to document current operations of the United States Navy; 3) Review and approve requests for original artwork for display, oversee the development of traveling art shows, and disseminates electronic images of art through various media; 4) Participate in the yearly Program Objective Memorandum preparation cycle and develop and execute budgetary phasing plans; and 5) Develop performance plans and individual development plans for staff training.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
- Degree: museum work; or in an applicable subject-matter field.
or
- Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
or
- Four years of experience that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study as shown in A above.
