Position is located within the Air Traffic Organization, Central Service Center, Operations Support Group, Environmental, Community Involvement, and Analytics Team, AJV-C250.

Duties

Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of FAA air traffic control processes and procedures to perform required airspace and procedures analysis.

• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

• Security Requirement: Moderate Risk (5). This position requires completion and favorable adjudication of a background investigation prior to appointment, unless a waiver is obtained. Subject to a 5 year period reinvestigation.
• Current or Former Permanent Federal Employees must have a one-year probationary period or trial period in the competitive or excepted service.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: To qualify for this position, candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the (FV-I or FG/GS-13) level that is typically in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience includes: Experience using FAA analytics and procedures development tools such as Terminal Area Route Generation and Traffic Simulation (TARGETS); Performance Data Analysis and Reporting System (PDARs); Instrument Flight Procedure, Operations, and Airspace Analytics tool (IOAA) or other FAA data sources for evaluating aircraft traffic in order to make decisions or recommendations and to develop comprehensive briefing packages related to National Airspace System (NAS) programs or projects.QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT.Special Note Concerning Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): As a part of the Federal-Wide Hiring Reform Initiative (streamlining the hiring process), the FAA is committed to eliminating the use of the Knowledge, Skills and Ability (KSA) narratives from the initial application in the hiring process for all announcements.
