About the Position:
Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties
Recommend alternative materials sources to alleviate work stoppages.
Maintain parts consumption data for production based on consumption history.
Use archived data to develop a depot overhaul factor for forecasting depot programs.
Recommend schedule adjustment based on availability or non-availability of materials.
Research technical data for areas such as manufacturing to ensure program requirements are met.
Develop the program requirements for major overhaul maintenance parts such as aircrafts and engines.
Analyze various reports (e.g., consumption reports and cost variance reports) utilizing logistics programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
- You may be expected to travel (TDY) in this position up to 10% of the time for business purposes.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
- Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
- Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
- Temporary reassignment may be made or extended at management discretion and can be made permanent without further competition.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Assisting in the preparation of material cost estimates; (2) Retrieving technical data from automated systems such as Army Master Data File (AMDF) or Material Depot Maintenance Requirements List (DMRL's); and (3) Assisting with the monitoring of parts consumption data in support of maintenance overhaul programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
