About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties

Develop long range work plans to meet workload changes and alleviate production delays. Analyze production schedules for maintenance production programs to reduce cost and avoid cost overruns. Approve leave of subordinate supervisors and reviewing personnel actions or employee performance appraisals. Develop recommendations and rationale for execution of operation and budgeting programs. Participate in operational and business planning with top level management and key officials for the purpose of determining working capital and industrial funding needs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
  • Appointment is required to complete one year probation to assess supervisory duties unless previously completed.
  • You may be expected to travel for this position up to 10% of the time for business purposes.
  • Must successfully complete the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months of being assigned to the position. Failure to do so may result in an adverse action.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
  • Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
  • Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
  • Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Analyzing comprehensive production support tools to support various maintenance missions for combat/tactical-weapon systems and production management programs; 2) Overseeing multiple levels of Production Management plans within an organization; 3) Identifying lean concepts to improve the production program processes and efficiency.; 4) Analyzing data or trends associated with Sales & Operations Planning.
