About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It's located at the Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital located on Fort Johnson, Louisiana. The primary purpose is plan, develop, formulate, present, defend, execute, and review all fiscal programs. Perform a full range of duties involved in the formulation, execution, review and reporting of the budgets and supervises three or more employees performing budget and budget related work.

Duties

Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates the functions, operations, and activities of the branch. Supervises, provides guidance to, and performs quality control to the budget analysts responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and tracking obligations, expenditures, and availability of funds. Plans regular work assignments, prepares plans to meet substantial changes in workload; justifies revisions in staffing levels, work priorities and deadlines. Overall responsibility for the financial operation of all Medical Activity (MEDDAC), Dental Activity (DENTAC), and Veterinary Command (VETCOM). Prepares analysis and resource utilization reports for submission.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • This position requires to obtain and maintain a Financial Management Level 2 Certification within 24 months of employment.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. Employee is required to remain in place or report for duty during inclement weather conditions or other appropriate emergency conditions.
  • This position may require a one-year probation period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
