About the Position: This position is in support of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC) Support Operations (SPO) located at Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL.
Duties
Manage assigned systems/units to ensure material resources are properly allocated to support timely fielding of new items and appropriate cascading of replaced items.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert on assigned unit/Line-Item Numbers (LINS) and address issues and concerns that may involve high level officials from other areas, commands, or agencies.
Utilize initiative and resourcefulness to develop new methods, criteria, or proposed new policies pertaining to unit equipping and material solutions.
Analyze and prioritize readiness with equipment on hand (EOH) and solutions for Army to include all assigned systems to ensure equipment and systems are fielded and distributed to meet Army priorities, equipment and system distribution plans.
Utilize oral and written communications, office automation equipment and information technology systems to prepare briefings, reports, and present findings.
Implement regulations or methods for the measurement and improvement of productivity of operating programs (e.g. (DST) decision support tools, {FMS) Web Force Management Systems).
Represent higher management at meetings and address the resolution of critical system/unit related issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and/or maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This is an Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics-Foundational Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- Position requires approximately 25% temporary duty (TDY) business travel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Apply analytical techniques to assess the effectiveness of the materiel/unit readiness program; 2) Conduct studies to recommend solutions to equipping shortage; 3) Develop instructions for the implementation of equipment fielding redistribution and excess; and 4) assisting with the development of equipping strategies to meet agency regulations/needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
