About the Position: Serves as Chief, Casualty Support Section and advisor to the Chief, Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Branch. and Director,Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Center.

Duties

Research current DoD and DA Publications and local Policy Analyze information and data; assesses progress of programs, projects and processes. Plan and assigns work, sets priorities, resolves conflicts, and advises team members on program goals and objectives. Communicate and coordinate with project officers internally and externally to the command. Investigate and assists in resolving sensitive issues. Serve as projects officer for various special programs and projects within the Army Casualty Program. Develop periodic or long-range plans for subordinates. Initiate requests for performance awards or disciplinary actions as appropriate. Provide and presents information to include recommendations both formally and informally via oral and written means (briefing slides, EXSUMs, etc). Coordinate actions and develops consolidated reports and responses.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Possess experience recommending the need for updating program policies and written guidance of regulations. Possess experience recommending the need for updating pamphlets, implementing instruction, or forms. Possess experience preparing briefings and position papers, as required. Write detailed reports, displaying information both in narrative and tabular format.
