Duties

This role serves a pivotal role as the Chief of Security/GSSO for the (1 TES). In this position, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive information and critical technologies that are essential to our nation's security in the rapidly evolving domains of space and cyber. Responsibilities: - Manage security clearances and requirements for 1 TES, ensuring adherence to command, legal, and regulatory standards. - Oversee specialized physical, information, industrial, and personnel security programs spanning classified and sensitive Space and Cyber defense acquisition and intelligence initiatives. - Develop, implement, and administer Collateral, Special Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) security programs tailored to 1 TES. - Execute assignments autonomously, devising solutions to intricate problems with precision. - Analyze, interpret, and report findings from projects, providing direction to team members in junior roles. - Ensure the thoroughness and effectiveness of completed work and reports.- Plan, direct, and organize 1 TES security office activities, aligning with command, legal, and regulatory requirements. - Resolve challenging and intricate security scenarios with innovative approaches and specialized procedures.- Apply advanced solutions to security problems, including analyzing complex sensor data against conflicting security guidelines.- Facilitate the execution of sensitive USSF, joint, multi-agency, and advanced technology program test activities. - Collaborate with high-level stakeholders, including Delta 12, Space System Center (SSC), Field Command, USSF, DoD, defense contractors, and federal defense and intelligence agencies to address security issues and implement effective policies.- Lead the implementation and administration of Collateral, SCI, and SAP personnel security programs for 1 TES. - Spearhead the creation and management of security information files (SIF) within STARCOM, USSF, and DoD processes. - Establish localized procedures for processing security clearances for military and civilian personnel. Evaluate security clearance requests and related material, offering well-informed recommendations. Ideal Candidate: - Demonstrates substantial experience in security management within a military or defense environment. Possesses a comprehensive understanding of personnel security processes and regulations in collateral, SAP, and SCI control systems -Exhibits strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas. 2. Knowledge of required security special access program (SAP) and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) security procedures. 3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization. 4. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 5. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. 6. Skill in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations 7. Ability to persuade others to accept recommendations, work toward an agreement, and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions. 8. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 9. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes. 10. Ability to identify problems and use sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.
