Duties

As a COMBATANT COMMAND REPRESENTATIVE (CCR) at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the primary combatant command representative (CCR) in exercising the authority and fulfilling the responsibilities and functions of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) commander's planning or execution of military operations consistent with functions and responsibilities directed in DTRA's Charter. Maintains liaisons that facilitate the integration of DTRA's counter-weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) capabilities with JSOC planning and execution, as required, relative to the Agency's combat support mission. Designs, plans and executes DTRA's involvement in JSOC joint training events and joint exercises sponsored by the CJCS and Commander, JSOC to ensure DTRA's capability to execute its combat support missions in support of CCMD plans. Maintains situational awareness of both DTRA and JSOC mission, operations, plans, and priorities to inform daily global integration actions. Ensures JSOC is fully-aware of DTRA support capabilities and authorities, and their applicability to current and emerging threats within the JSOC global area of responsibility (AOR). The incumbent conveys to their supported customer the known impacts of strategic competition and WMD facilitation activities on current or planned operations. Identifies and advises on CWMD gaps within the JSOC AOR.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Experience serving as a senior representative at Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) or TSOC leading and supervising a team of employees. Experience coordinating, enabling, synchronizing or overseeing agency operations impacting JSOC in the areas of countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) to include Research and Development. Experience serving as an expert in the realm of countering WMD. Experience maintaining an expert understanding of JSOC missions, operations, plans and priorities. Experience providing vital communications between senior leadership and the JSOC HQ's leadership and staff consistent with guiding documents, policies and procedures. Experience cultivating and facilitating agency activities and the expansion of DoD, interagency, and international partnerships to promote a more effective U.S. government effort to counter the threats posed by WMD. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
