This position is located in the Office of Patient Care services of the VA Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV, and is responsible for clerical and administrative functions/support for Patient Care services
Duties
Duties:
Major duties and responsibilities will include:
Serves as the records management liaison responsible for the accountability, maintenance, and disposal of records
Tracks action items and notifies supervisor of impending suspense dates
Provides administrative support for employee travel requests
Maintains employee competency folders, tracking and submitting appraisals, proficiencies, and awards
Assists with the management of the Chief's calendar, resolving scheduling conflicts, rescheduling appointments, and printing documents needed for the day
Generates, routes for approval/signature and tracks a variety of memorandums, letters, and other documents
Works in collaboration with leadership to operationalize quality assurance initiatives
Assists with developing, drafting, and updating support policies and procedures, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met
Serves as the Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator (ADPAC) for the CCC
Assists with space and information technology (IT) matters, as well as, office supplies, and other logistical needs
Manages purchase card use, reconciling purchase cards, maintaining purchase card documentation
Performs timekeeping duties
Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/29/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Responsible for providing clerical, technical, or customer support; receiving and referring phone calls; communicating and treating customers in a courteous, tactful and respectful manner while providing consistent information according to established policies and procedures; and using computer programs to prepare documents. Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary; however, some light physical exertions such as walking and standing during presentations, briefings, speeches, health fair activities. The work is typically performed in an office setting with adequate lighting and climate controlled.
