This position will provide comprehensive services in a variety of clerical and administrative support duties for the Office of Nursing Service extends the provision of patient care to various institutional and non-institutional settings such as Vet Centers, homeless shelters, and other affiliated organizations. The incumbent will perform the full scope of the duties and responsibilities within the Connected Care-Telehealth Service at the VA Southern Nevada Health Care System (VASNHS).

Duties

The employee is responsible for the independent performance of administrative duties as delegated by the Telehealth Program Manager. Accomplish numerous administrative functions independently in areas such as personnel management, supply and equipment need, budget preparation, collecting and analyzing data, completing reports, collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information, and submitting recommendations on management information systems. Independently prepares, executes, and/or tracks program specific information, such as staffing effectiveness data, overtime/ compensatory time use, floating of personnel, and other data used for evidence-based decision making. The employee will use software applications to draw information in order to prepare/assist in preparation of reports: sources may include Pyramid Analytics, VistA databases, Telehealth Scheduling System (TSS), and SQL servers. Independently collects data for statistical studies and reports, analyzes and submits recommendations on findings in areas including Telehealth scheduling, patient wait times, CVT equipment status and inventory. The employee will provide support to the Telehealth Program Manager and independently prepares all documents for Telehealth related committees, councils, and work groups as needed. The employee will perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor will include serving as a point of contact for patients, medical center staff, VISN staff, community agencies, and various others who contact the Telehealth office. The employee will receive incoming correspondence from vendors via US Mail delivery, intradepartmental documents, fax documents, hand delivered packets and routes them to the appropriate channels. Calls and/or sends letters to non-responders in the Home Telehealth Program The employee will independently provide administrative support in the planning and/or development of policies and/or technical activities of the VASNHS Telehealth programs. The employee will research various publications to extract, summarize, and compile information required for the activities of the organization. The employee will independently assist staff in the acquisition, development, and/or scheduling of program resource materials and personnel, such as hard copy and computer based brochures and reports, agency staff and/or volunteer personnel, and/or needed program equipment such as telephones, computers, printers, fax machines, etc. The employee will perform the following types of duties: provide general clerical mail and correspondence services such as preparing a variety of recurring reports, reviews outgoing correspondence for proper attachments, and/or consolidating/coordinating submittals of The employee will perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and as outlined on the position description and will include serving as a point of contact for patients, medical center staff, VISN staff, community agencies, and various others who contact the Telehealth office. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/31/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: serves as advisors and experts to the Section Chiefs and supports the management information components, serves as a management analyst, tracking and assisting with suspense items, assists in managing all equipment, maintains a service-level records inventory and file plan, manages a spreadsheet to identify and track record titles, descriptions, locations, volumes, filing instructions, and dispositions, creates and manages forms, charts, and posters, often complex, utilizing Power Point, Excel, VISIO, and Microsoft Word, designs detailed charts and graphs, serves as an assistant of administrative functions, reviews all correspondence/publications prepared for the signature of individuals to ensure correct format, grammar, spelling, punctuation, appearance, and assembly. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: ClericalCustomer ServiceTechnical Competence Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
