About the Position: This poisiton is with the 84th Training Command DCS, G8 located at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Provide direction and oversight of the commands Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) program.
Applies statutory and regulatory guidance to resolve unusual and difficult financial audit readiness situations.
Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the FIAR program.
Analyze automated financial system process maps and data flow to provide webbased solutions.
Determine the reliability of reportable financial information in support of audit readiness.
Review and correct obligation and disbursement reconciliations on auditable financial statements.
Advise and train program managers on processing accounting transactions and reconciling accounting/financial reports.
Develop a variety of reports, papers, procedures, and instructions to accomplish financial audit readiness goals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent of this position must complete required certification within established timelines.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

GS-11
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated financial systems to determine accuracy of reporting, utilizing automate financial systems to obtain data for statistical analysis; conducting statistical analysis and compiling results; preparing reports and charts for briefings to higher levels of the organization; conducting briefings to higher levels of the organization, researching and applying federal regulations as required and providing regulatory guidance to others, reviewing contract acquisition packages for completeness and accuracy and providing feedback to customers and management; conducting cost benefit analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Budget Analysis, Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Marketing, or Financial Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-12
One year of specialized experience which includes: utilizing various financial systems (such as GFEBS and GCSS-A) to initiate reports, perform research, analyze financial transactions or adjustments, or resolve financial data discrepancies; interpreting, applying, and providing guidance on regulations governing Financial Management and Accounting programs; gathering and analyzing financial program data to verify accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures; and maintaining, evaluating, or improving automated financial systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
*NO Education Substitution at the GS-12 Level.
