About the Position: Provide technical advisory service and assists in the development and integration on initiatives such as the policies and procedures for the Army's casualty and mortuary-related programs to include survivor support, casualty operations, mortuary operations, line of duty investigations, the memorialization program, military funeral honors, fatal incident programs and other future assigned programs.

Duties

Ensures proper and efficient operation of the casualty/mortuary-related programs assigned where the work is typically complex and executed in difficult situations. Research, staffs, and establishes policies, procedures, and responsibilities related to assigned program/policy areas. Prepares ARs, PAMs, forms, tables and figures that implement DoD and Army policies affecting CMAOD programs and services. Explains and defends Army initiatives related to the Army?s casualty and mortuary programs and persuades potential users or approving officials of the values of recommendations. Study, analysis and evaluation is conducted to increase program effectiveness or meet current/emerging mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent will be required to complete a one probationary period.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience is defined as one year of specialized experience at the one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes demonstrated experience in fact-finding and investigative techniques; planning, evaluating, analyzing and decision making regarding agency policies for various audiences and multiple stakeholders; demonstrated experience in development of presentations and reports; analyzing management information requirements to develop programs, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
