About the Position: Serves as first line supervisor of the acquisition and operations functional area in a Project Management Office (PMO).

Duties

Plans and directs activities of employees engaged in the acquisition and operations of a project office responsible for major capabilities acquisition including managing weapon system resource requirements and developing long-range program plans. Independently reviews and assesses the total program in terms of objectives, progress and deficiencies, including contractor and other Government agencies performance. Directs accomplishment of assigned area(s) by making necessary adjustments, modifications, and revisions to meet objectives and remains well-informed of current trends, tendencies, developments, and overall status of activities. Serves as expert advisor and consultant and is recognized as a leading authority in subject matter field. Assists subordinates in preparing career plans, develops their work performance standards, observes workers' performance, and periodically evaluates it.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Advanced Level in the Acquisition Career Field Program Management within 48 months of entrance on duty.
• The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
• A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
