You will serve as a Computer Scientist in the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory of MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT CMD.
Duties
You will provide administrative, technical and coordinate planning plus procedural guidance to build, maintain and modernize the Marine Corps Warfighting and Analysis Center (MCWAC) information database.
You will serve as the software and computer exert/manager on all computer science and associated matters.
You will apply knowledge of advanced computer science principles and practices.
You will evaluate bids and proposals, provide technical guidance to contractors, resolve technical problems, and establish new (or improved) approaches when required.
You will make formal and informal presentations outlining the history, current status, and objectives of the project as required.
You will develop short-and-long -range plans, objectives, schedules and other measures for accomplishing program goals.
You will keep employees informed of management programs, policies and practices.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing direction involving software elements of research and development, installation, operation and maintenance related to software mission; advising on modeling operations, architecture development and implementation; advising on enhancing efficiency through modification and application of evolving technology; and coordinating contract team personnel in data base management.

Applicants must possess
Bachelor's degree in computer science
OR
Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
