Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Program Support Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with administrative or program principles, concepts, policies, and objectives to optimize business results and customer experience by: Serving as a Program Support Specialist with responsibility to perform a wide variety of administrative and program functions which may involve matters related to budget, property, travel, procurement, human resources, or other program activities. Reviewing and analyzes directives and policies to determine impact on operations. Assisting in planning for and arranging the agenda of meetings and/or conferences. Serving as a liaison between divisions to ensure administrative requirements/policies are being addressed and implemented consistently by leadership and professional staff.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: To qualify for the GS-11: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three of the four following: Applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations; Communicating both orally and in writing, to explain recommendations, provide guidance, advise management, and respond to inquiries; Planning, scheduling, and conducting projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program or support setting; Developing policies, procedures, and criteria for administration of projects. Education may be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level as follows: : Completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR Completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR Completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled;https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/unique-hiring-paths/students/federal-occupations-by-college-major OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. To qualify for the GS-09: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing at least two of the three following: Maintaining a calendar and scheduled appointments and meetings on behalf of supervisor. Arranging travel for supervisors including conferences, including such matters as location, agenda, and materials. Utilizing computer software, such as Word, Excel, SharePoint, Power Point, Outlook and specialized databases to extract and organize data, produce letters, memorandums, and spreadsheets. Education may be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level as follows: Completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR Completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's or equivalent degree; OR Completed an LL.B. or J.D., in a field directly related to the position being filled;https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/unique-hiring-paths/students/federal-occupations-by-college-major OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
