You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM ANALYST in the FLEET INTRODUCTION PROGRAM OFFICE (PMS 505); SURFACE SHIP MAINTENANCE MODERIZATION of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
Duties
You will serve as an expert consultant and project leader in state-of-the-art equipment/systems development, acquisition, or application of theories, principles, practical concepts, processes, and methods related to assigned area.
You will identify, develop and implement recommendations or solutions to problems, risks, and potential outcomes in the assigned program area.
You will manage all technical efforts to ensure reliability and accuracy to problems that involve the generation or application of theories, principles, practical concepts, processes, and methods related to professional fields of engineering.
You will serve as a senior adviser to provide authoritative scientific, technical, and professional guidance or advice to senior level managers and engineers concerning unusual or critical problems that often affect the work of others.
You will conduct pioneering work of outstanding scope, difficulty, and complexity in unexplored or previously unpromising areas.
You will maintain technical expertise for cutting-edge technology through continuing professional education and training, symposiums, and technical liaison with other military activities.
You will exercise a high degree of innovation, originality, and sound judgment to initiate and/or implement guidelines and policies to fulfill the mission.
You will adapt or develop new and innovative methods.
You will be responsible for overall budget plans for many varied/diverse features of assigned program areas.
You will take into account the costs/risks associated with operations of extremely complicated equipment, software, and unique components.
You will manage team projects and activities to ensure successful performance.
You will coordinate and liaise with internal and external customers across a broad spectrum of government employees, military members, consultants, contractors, other government organizations, or private industry.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (or GS-13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing acquisition program requirements (e.g., shipbuilding modernization and technologies, fleet introduction, integration and production concepts, contract, budgeting, or funding constraints) to identify problems and develop innovative solutions.
