About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Military Police School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Serve as primary instructor for Antiterrorism Officer Basic and Advanced courses.
Promote, produces and presents valid Antiterrorism Force Protection training to DOD students in accordance with governing laws, regulations, directives, and programs of instruction.
Assist in courses administration through scheduling classes, requesting support materials for classes and maintaining class records to include student academic records.
Pack, loads, transports, and ships training material in 150-pound pelican cases.
Advise students on subject academic problems and endeavors to stimulate more interest in subject matter and enthusiasm for subject to be studied.
Interview and counsels students to ascertain reasons for failure in certain subjects, class in attention or other contributory causes to scholastic problems and determines extent of progress being made by individual students.
Perform a range of public relation services to ensure that the MP training programs receives positive visibility and acceptance within USAMPS, the Combined Arms Center, TRADOC, DA, and DOD.
Develop Antiterrorism Force Protection doctrinal material for use in U.S. Army regulations, field manuals and training products.
Keep abreast of changes in technology and training associated with Antiterrorism Force Protection operations.
Conduct research and provides input to doctrinal and training materials.
Requirements
- A secret Clearance is required for this position.
- The employee must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft. The employee may be required to travel into hostile areas of operations.
- This position requires the employee to travel frequently, (9-21 days in duration, 35% of the calendar year) as a member of a Mobile Training Team.
- The employee may be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- The employee may be recalled to duty.
- This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
- This position requires the employee to successfully complete the Antiterrorism Branch Instructor Qualification Program within 120 days of assignment.
- Subject to a pre-employment medical examination.
- Incumbent must have the ability to climb on to and into combat vehicles, stand for several hours in duration and lift, on occasion, up to 80 pounds.
- Employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrate a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: training and instructing students in accordance with the Antiterrorism and Force Protection governing laws, and regulations; recommending revision to lesson plans and training support materials; and conducting research and coordinating the development of doctrinal and training materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Social Sciences.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
