You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Future Capabilities Branch of CARDEROCK DIV NS, located in Carderock, MD.

Duties

You will maintain and manage artifacts related to necessary accreditation(s), authorizations, and audits for network(s) across multiple sites. You will develop, coordinate, and execute security policies and controls in line with high level general policy as well as assesses current and future vulnerabilities. You will be manage necessary hardware/networks including identification/recommendation of required hardware and software to meet current and future needs. You manage software approvals, installs, testing, and updates/patches as required for system security and technical needs where traditional methods may not be possible. You will interface with external organizations' leadership as necessary to maintain IT systems to necessary security levels and mitigate issues and risks. You will develop and deliver necessary training of technical team as required for system accreditation and auditing.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722/451 level Advanced within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying Information Technology (IT) security principles to coordinate the installation, administration, operation, maintenance or monitoring of secure computer networks and their compliance with cybersecurity policies and controls.
