About the Position: This Management Analyst position is located at Redstone Arsenal, AL with the US Army Space and Missile Defense Center (SMDC), Center of Excellence, DCD, Force Development Division.
Duties
Manage all aspects of force design and organization integration across the Command for assigned Units.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for generating organizational requirements, designing organization structures, developing organizational models, determining organizational authorizations, and documenting organizational designs.
Plan, program, and conduct force structure studies to identify force structure shortfalls and to generate future formations.
Develop new organization structures and correcting deficiencies in existing organizations to meet required operational capabilities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- A pre-employment and recurring comprehensive background investigation that includes, but is not limited to, contact with all references, employers, co-workers, personal associates,
- and a review of your driving record, credit history, criminal history, and military service are required.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing policy and program actions such as: cataloging and tracking of program taskings; analyzing impact of directives on the organization; issuing instructions to commands on adopted administrative policy; and briefing leadership on incoming/outgoing projects/programs; anticipates problems, develops sound solutions and action plans to ensure program/mission accomplishment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
