You will serve as a INFORMATION AND REFERRAL ASSISTANT (OA) in the FLEET AND FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER of NSA ANNAPOLIS.
Duties
You will receive telephone calls to deliver clear messages or answer specific department questions.
You will access established files to provide information upon request from management to support programs.
You will answer and direct calls to appropriate personnel for customer assistance.
You will compose and edit outgoing correspondence to ensure correct content, grammar, and format.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provides assistance that is in direct support of programs, and administrative management functions; 2) Delivers information and referral services to clients; and 3) Receives telephone calls and greets customers. 4) Maintains records and statistical data in accordance with regulations and quality standards.
