You will serve as a MUSICAL ACTIVITIES PROGRAM ASSISTANT in the MUSICAL ACTIVITIES DEPARTMENT of NAVAL ACADEMY.

Duties

You will assist with general office maintenance to include answering phones, photocopying, filing, data entry, ordering office supplies for performances and routine office equipment maintenance. You will serve as sound engineer for live performances off campus and on concert tours. You will create, edit, and produce audio recordings for broadcast, recorded media, and social media platforms. You will assist with rehearsal and performance materials and equipment, logistical requirements for activities both at the Naval Academy and on the road. You will provide movement of concert equipment and provide live and recorded audio for performances.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizes a variety of automated software programs to complete administrative and clerical assignments including logistic arrangements for travel and tracking expenses. Utilizes industry-standard audio editing programs and reading music to complete audio creations, editing, and mastering of audio files.
