You will serve as a MUSICAL ACTIVITIES PROGRAM ASSISTANT in the MUSICAL ACTIVITIES DEPARTMENT of THE UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY.
Duties
You will assist staff to develop itineraries, office calls, brown bag lunches, or faculty roundtables.
You will maintain suspense files to track correspondence to completion.
You will draft correspondence for management's review or signature.
You will resolve administrative and office issues (e.g., travel orders, payment issues, timekeeping, order supplies, answer the phone) in an office environment to ensure efficiency.
You will assist staff in coordinating travel logistics (lodging, ground transportation, meals) for large musical ensembles.
You will provide live sound engineering and audio recordings for ensemble performances. To do this properly, you will need to have a basic ability to read music.
You will serve as sound engineer for live performances off campus and on concert tours.
You will create, edit, and produce audio recordings for broadcast, recorded media, and social media platforms.
You will answer inquiries and make referrals to responsible staff members.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Executing administrative office functions including logistics planning for travel (meals/ lodging/ transportation), acquiring audio, visual, and recording equipment; maintaining mailing lists and distributing concert announcements, and providing live and recorded audio for performances; 2) Operating sound engineering equipment; 3) Using industry-standard audio editing programs and reading music to complete audio creations, editing, and mastering of audio files; and 4) Interpreting guidelines and regulations while communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
