This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Office of Human Capital, Operations and Customer Relations Group, Division of Strategic Customer Relations. As a HR SPEC (RECRUITMENT & OUTREACH), GS-0201-13, You will advise hiring managers on various targeted outreach strategies. Duties can include attending career fairs, facilitating webinars, and utilizing social media platforms to drive potential applicants to CMS positions.

Duties

Advise on Human Resources laws, regulations and policies formulated at the Federal, HHS, and OPDIV levels that apply to HR management. Advise on the implication of proposed management decisions with respect to substantive as well as procedural HR matters. Provide advisory services, oversight and coordination of assigned staffing program(s). Represent CMS at career fairs and other outreach activities. Contributes to the development of SOPs designed to foster the implementation of CMS human capital goals and strategic recruitment activities that bridge CMS overall mission and program goals and objectives.

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Participating in the strategic planning and implementation of an outreach program; 2) Developing and implementing communication and marketing programs utilizing social media platforms and recruitment/outreach strategies; AND 3) Utilizing recruiting and outreach techniques in order to determine which method or program is successful. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
