You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST/ OCEANOGRAPHER in the OCEAN PROJECTS DEPARTMENT (N9), OCEAN PRODUCTS DIVISION (N91) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will serve as the Division Director, Ocean Products Division, and supervises the work of division specialist to include Engineers, Oceanographers, Physical Scientist, Acousticians, and Technicians.
You will direct a staff of scientists to provide technical advice, analysis integrated over several technical areas, and final products and
recommendations derived from oceanographic and acoustic measurements and modeling to program sponsors.
You will direct the staffing, scheduling, and fielding of surveys or field operations.
You will plan and review work to be accomplished by subordinates; sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities.
You will prepare division budget and insure cost effective expenditure of resources.
You will direct and manage the preparation of plans, schedules, and survey operations that support the acquisition of oceanographic and acoustic environmental information required.
You will lead the discovery, implementation and integration of new technology into data sampling, analysis, performance prediction, and product delivery in support of sponsors and Fleet customer objectives.
You will review the processing, compilation, and field analysis of collected data and samples, and the preparation and production of interpretive reports and publications, to assure effective utilization of resources requirements.
You will establish objectives, provides guidance, and evaluates accomplishments of Division projects and tasks to assure that requirements are met in a comprehensive and timely manner.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1. Experience in anticipate and meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
2. Experience in lead, manage or supervise a technical workforce on a project, program, or collaborative effort.
3. Experience in convey written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; expresses thoughts persuasively and uses effective modes to reinforce message retention.
4. Experience in Professional scientific work engaged in the collection, measurement, analysis, evaluation and interpretation of natural and physical ocean phenomena, such as currents, circulations, waves, beach and near-shore processes, chemical structure and processes, physical and submarine features, depth, floor configuration, organic and inorganic sediments, sound and light transmission, color manifestations, heat exchange, and similar phenomena (e.g., biota, weather, geological structure, etc.). Work plans, organizes, conducts, and administers seagoing and land-based study and research of ocean phenomena for the purpose of interpreting, predicting, utilizing and controlling ocean forces and events.

- Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

- Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
