About the Position: Position serves as primary advisor to the BN Commander on operational level market research, data collection, and information synthesis as it pertains to recruiting market, mission analysis, and mission assignment.
Duties
Solicit, collect, and/or extract data and information of market intelligence value from a variety of organizations to include: HQ USAREC, local government, local board of education, recruiting companies and recruiting stations.
Utilize TOS, MPA, FAZR, MapInfo and other query languages to retrieve data from remote online computer systems.
Synthesize market and mission analysis gleaned from USAREC, Brigade (BDE), and BN Headquarters guidance and analysis for implications at BN, company, and station level.
Define demographic and psychographic profiles by analyzing zip code plus four level - life style segmentation within the BN, company and station boundaries.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-09. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience performing market analysis and experience in the use of various systems in order to gather, interpret and present data.

Education: Successful completion of a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.

Combining Education and Experience: I have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.).
