You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200), Combat Systems Division (Code 290), Sail Mechanical, Towed Array and Towed Buoy Systems (Code 295)of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will provide technical advice and guidance to managers and engineers on engineering practices.
You will coordinate the efforts on projects with personnel from other engineering codes or from other activities.
You will act as a troubleshooter in the identification and resolution of problems encountered during installations and testing phases of waterfront production efforts.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience preparing technical work documents (TWD) including job summaries, Task Group Instructions (TGI) and Deficiency Forms (DFs) for production work and tests during installation, conversion, or repair of assigned systems.
Experience recommending engineering changes on all operational parameters such as load, speed, pressures, used to demonstrate proper performance and reliability.
Experience conducting and performing pre-arrival & post-availability testing to identify required repairs and determine state of readiness and reliability following installations.
Experience providing technical guidance for installation and testing of assigned systems required to execute complex projects to managers and engineers
Experience establishing day to day assignments and establishing daily time and attendance.
