About the Position: Serves as the Assistant Chief of Staff (ACoS), G5 (Strategic Management), U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC). Incumbent is the Command's expert consultant on strategic plans, recruiting systems, processes, innovations and concepts, knowledge management, and force management.
Duties
Consult on strategic plans, recruiting systems, processes, innovations and concepts, knowledge management and force management.
Supervise and coordinate knowledge management development and implementation.
Oversee policies and regulations regarding lifecycle management.
Principal advisor and represents G5 in support of the Commanding General at meetings, conferences and/or exercises.
Direct and manage top level, high visibility efforts involving strategic business planning, and/or program integration.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and access.
- This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: lead strategic planning teams; analyze problem areas and recommend solutions; direct TDA management and force design initiatives; recommend adjustments to policies, programs, business practices, projects and studies; advise on developing, implementing, and executing knowledge management tasks; develop financial management planning, programming and budgeting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
