This position is located in the Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) within the Geriatric and Extended Care Service Line (GECSL). The incumbent provides the Atlanta site of the Birmingham/Atlanta GRECC with administrative, personnel, and technical assistance in the relevant areas of research, education, and include personnel/payroll, program planning and support, budget preparation, clinical scheduling and research support to include grant proposal preparation.
Duties
Researches and/or analyzes problems, issues, or program requirements related to clinical
programs, educational, grants and other activities of Geriatric Research and Educational Clinical Center (GRECC); Determines pertinent issues and collects relevant information from a variety of sources; Performs work involving the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and
statistical information in support of the Service program operation, particularly those that relate to performance measures; This also includes tracking of all fund control points with in the Service to ensure a complete forecast of the budget and FTEE status at all times; Assists the Atlanta GRECC Site Director in formulating, presenting, and executing the Service budget; Participates in developing the annual budget formulation and/or execution process. Independently analyzes and coordinates changes for budget management to assist investigators and supervisors of administrative and scientific sections in budget execution and planning and to provide resources of personnel and funds to meet changing requirements inherent in research activities.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (schedule up to Management)

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/25/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Assists in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program/project studies; Establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes computerized data sets, and retrieves computerized data; Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports; Determines pertinent issues and collects relevant information from a variety of sources; Reviews
information and applies standard analytical techniques; Develops recommendations and proposals .

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have .master's or equivalent graduate degree

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
