This position is assigned to the Policy and Planning Division, Office of Management Services, Office of the Executive Director, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Department of State.
You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and evaluating policies, compliance with regulations, strategic plans, performance monitoring, and evaluation.
Duties
Leads the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees. Makes adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks.
Coordinates with Office of Management Strategy and Solutions (M/SS) on the identification of the security deficiencies, implementing cross-organizational solutions, and ensuring all Department requirements and timelines are met.
Represents the Bureau on Department-wide and interagency committees and working groups and at meetings and conferences when policy formulation, program management, and institutional reform is discussed.
Manages Diplomatic Security’s relationship with the highly visible Security Review Committee (SRC) by supporting the six Assistant Secretaries serving as members of the SRC.

- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Obtain/maintain eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information
Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience drafting new and revised policies and procedures for program areas.
Experience providing policy, administrative and coordination support to the Security Review Committee, Government Accountability Office and Office of Inspector General.
Experience providing policy guidance, administrative support, and compliance oversight in the formulation of policy and regulations.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
