You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Computer, Cybersecurity, Networks & Facilities Branch; Strategic System Design & Implementation Division of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-05 is equivalent to GS-13/14.
This position is salary capped GS-13 Step 10 (currently $145,617). See "Additional Information Section."
Duties
You will provide analysis of current network systems and components: evaluating lifecycle, capacity capabilities, and interconnectivity structure.
You will lead a technical team that provides support to a program in the areas of software and network equipment management.
You will implement, administer, and troubleshoot information systems that incorporate servers in a networked computing environment.
You will design, plan, and implement security requirements for network hardware, software, and data.
You will configure hardware and software to meet specific needs as described by project requirements.
You will ensure access to and security of technology systems.
You will install and maintain application software, operating systems, network services, data management, encryption services, and systems administration.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area System Admin, level advanced within 12 months of appointment.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band NT-04 (GS-11/12 grade level equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector implementing Information Technology security measures or requirements to maintain network hardware and software to ensure the security of information systems. Examples of qualifying experience may include: analyzing, assessing, and documenting cyber security/information assurance capabilities; establishing information system compliance with cyber security/information assurance requirements; identifying vulnerabilities in network system information technology systems.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
